What to see

Eglise Sainte-Croix - Church of the Holy Cross

As supposedly every parish in the area also Beinheim has its own church, built in 1760.
The nave is simple and unobtrusively decorated. The end of the nave forms a Gothic polygonal chorus with buttresses. In its center stands a marvellous high altar in Baroque style which was acquired in 1792. The organ made by Stiehr on the opposite side above the entrance was installed in about 1815 and entirely renovated in 2002.

Address: Rue de l'Eglise, 67930 Beinheim
Directions: A narrow street (Impasse de l'Eglise) leads from the main street D468 to the church.

Mairie - the Town Hall

The Town Hall of Beinheim is very central. It has a spectacular glazed upper passage way connecting the old with the new part. Because of this feature you can hardly miss it.

Address: 19A Rue principale, 67930 Beinheim

Fountain with Coat of Arms

In front of this beautiful old timber frame house stands a fountain on whose front side the coat of arms of Beinheim is carved into the red stone.

Address: Rue principale, 67930 Beinheim
Directions: The Rue principale is the main street (D468) of Beinheim. The house is close to where the Rue des Francais leads into the Rue principale.

Old house and ruin in Rue des Francais

This old house which has not been in use for obviously quite some time can be found in Rue des Francais.
It is a strange contrast to the nice and new looking road paving plus new street lamp and bench.

Old railway track to/from Germany

If you enter Beinheim coming from Germany, more precisely coming from Rastatt-Wintersdorf you will cross the river Rhine that forms the two countries border on a huge iron bridge, partly old on the French side, partly new on the German side.
When driving on the bridge you will realise that it was originally built as a railway bridge. When entering Beinheim you will see that the entrance sign is partly built on stones from the demolished bridge part.
The old railway track is still existing in some parts. You can walk on the straight track and discover old bridges that the trains where crossing once.
